In today (Thursday, October 26), snow rugby of a lesser-known Alpine sport will be held in London. Participants will be far from known, but with the 2003 World Cup champions Mike Tindall, Ian Balshaw and Simon Shaw will be launching the Tournoi des Six Stations station in 2018 at the foot of the real slopes of Badeci Park.
The six stations of the season (as opposed to nations) are Val Thorens, Les Menuires, Valmorel, La Clusaz, Châtel and Megève. Everyone will be composed of seven rugby legends and amateurs, who play each other in a round-robin form, deciding the final league position. In 2017, the winners were Châtel, hosted by Dominici, with Balshaw and Barkley, where the Telegraph was interviewed after the game.
Ian Balshaw was first invited in 2015 to complete his career in Biarritz last year and had a ball. "I made one of the best decisions I did ... I liked it.Yann was keen to expand from events in France, especially for many British people in French resorts, so he invited me to invite some of my companions. Sales..."
Both Balch and Tindall went skiing (to Switzerland and Tyrol, respectively), but had to relax in the football career. "The last trip I was a teenager, and in the last game of the last day I divided the tip of the elbow into four. Once retired from the British football, I got back here because Zara (his Wife) also like skiing.
The week is very much a scenario of play hard, party hard. “You can't predict the snow conditions, just like for skiing” says Tindall.
We can offer other interesting sports, such as dry skiing etc.
